Quick Wednesday Evening Post; September 8, 2021

Went to the Knox Junior High track after meeting with some folks from Chase Bank late this afternoon, but couldn't get on the track for awhile because there were a pair of football games going on.

Once I was able to, I only got 1.7226 miles in 27:10.11 for a pace of 15:46.

I wasn't pushing it, obviously.

All laps were in lane 4.

I also then got in 10.3 miles on the Air Assault bike in 30 minutes and 42 seconds.

Got a chance to talk a good bit with Bill Dwyer this evening while we waited.

None of his runners showed up as the majority of his crew is going to run the Tunnel Light Marathon in Washington state on Sunday.

New Update; September 7, 2021

I haven't blogged in awhile, but I'll try to get back into the swing of things.

So I ran a race a few days after the last time, I blogged.  It went OK; however, the next day I was likely exposed to the virus and shortly thereafter I tested positive for COVID-19.

Thankfully, I had a mild case and recovered fairly quick.

As I pointed out before, a knee issue slowed down my quest to get the miles needed for the Great Virtual Run Across Tennessee and even though I walked some, COVID slowed it down even further.

I ended my July 25 - August 24 reporting period with 41.76 miles walking, another 22.81 miles on my feet and 40.6 miles cycling - a total of 105.17.

May 25 to June 24 was 343.13 miles combined.

June 25 to July 24 was still 274.8 miles.

This is what I've done since August 25:

August 25 - September 24 - 0.0 miles - 33.584 miles walking - 20.802 miles walking (Apple Health) - 28 miles cycling - 0 meters rowing

September 6 (Monday) - 8.1 miles walking in Springwoods Village and on Spring Creek Greenway Trail (2:04:00) - 0.9 miles walking (Apple Health)
September 7 (Tuesday) - 4.176 miles walking at Knox Junior High (1:04:21.87)

Running races no longer a big priority of mine, and with my cross country announcing season coming quickly I will less and less time to run them.

I haven't run since July 25, and that's OK.  When I walk, I walk to break a sweat - or be soaked actually.

I'd been out to the track on Wednesday night a couple of times.

That's different because I used to go regularly, but I needed to take a break from Bill's group for about three months.

I was out there this evening - on a Tuesday - for the first time since early May.

I covered 4.176 miles - 16 laps in lane 4 - at Knox Junior High in 1:04:21.87 - a 15:25 pace.

4:11.85
4:06.75
4:07.72
4:05.95
4:03.91
4:03.47
4:06.14

4:01.60
4:00.81
4:01.99
4:02.17
4:02.51
4:02.62

So pretty consistent.

Those laps in the middle included a little running with Mike Kuykendahl, while catching up a little bit.  Good stuff.

Will probably be back out at the track tomorrow evening.

Have a great Wednesday.
