40 New Aramco Houston Half Legacy Runners Expected Next Sunday

According to information obtained from HoustonResults.com, 62 runners have completed exactly nine (9) Aramco Houston Half Marathons.

Next Sunday, 40 of them are registered - per the Chevron Houston Marathon's online confirmation search feature -- and set to complete their 10th Aramco Houston Half Marathon.

76 Aramco Houston Half Marathoners Ready to Add to Legacy Total

Just under 100 runners -- 97, to be exact -- have finished 10 or more Aramco Houston Half Marathons since its inception in 2002.

Twenty-seven (27) completed their 10th half at last year's Aramco Houston Half.

Entering next Sunday's 15th running, 76 of those 97 runners -- approximately 78 percent -- will be looking to add one more finish to their Legacy Runner total.

The most experienced racer is the one who has finished all 14 to date -- 79-years-young Nathaniel "Skippy" Collins from Houston.

Three runners -- San Antonio's Michael Chicka, Killeen's Scott Zarley and Houston's Sharon Newquist -- will be looking for their 14th finish, missing only one year.

Another 15 half marathoners have completed 12 to date and will be going for their lucky 13th finish.

Forty women and 36 men will be in the starting corrals with an average age of 56.

The youngest is 34-year-old Angela Hemmen from San Antonio.

And one runner, Houston's Luis Armenteros, 43, will be in the Elite corral as the former Rice Owl will be looking for his 11th Aramco Houston Half Marathon finish.

Fifteen (15) will begin next Sunday in corral A.  Corrals B and C will hold 12 runners each while corral D will be the pre-race home for 37 runners.

Ten runners will be getting their weekend started on Saturday with their participation in the ABB 5K as they attempt to complete the Houston Double with their half marathon finish on Sunday.
